I started this on her birthday but only just finished it now. Oops. So a late Happy Birthday to Minerva McGonagall! I love McGonagall so much because she’s such a bamf but at the same time she has this wonderful motherly affection for all the students of Hogwarts, and Hogwarts itself. She has a brilliant dry sense of humour and she’s a great teacher, strict but fair. Also every scene of hers with Umbridge or Trelawny is super.
‘But surely you already knew that, Sibyll?” said Professor McGonagall, her eyebrows raised. A slight cough came from the opposite side of the table and she turned to see Snape looking unapologetically at Trelawney. Professor Trelawney gave Professor McGonagall a very cold look. ‘Certainly I knew, Minerva,’ she said quietly. ‘But one does not parade the fact that one is All-Knowing. I frequently act as though I am not possessed of the Inner Eye, so as not to make others nervous.’ ‘That explains a great deal,’ said Professor McGonagall tartly. Another muffled cough caught her ear. Professor Trelawney’s voice suddenly became a good deal less misty. ‘If you must know, Minerva, I have seen that poor Professor Lupin will not be with us for very long. He seems aware, himself, that his time is short. He positively fled when I offered to crystal gaze for him – ’ ‘Imagine that,’ said professor McGonagall dryly.
such as.. GET THE FUCK OUT OF MY SCHOOL YOU FUCKING UGLY DEFORMED MIDGET!!! WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE YOU MOTHER FUCKING FAT-TOAD-LOOK-ALIKE SLUT!!
Really? Do you really think Professor McGonagall would insult Umbridge solely based on her looks (and apparently her sexuality?) after all the horrible things she’s done? She’s so much more badass and well-spoken that.
Erin sent me a message about this post, and I completely agree with what she’s said. McGonagall would never use slurs such as “midget,” “fat,” or “slut.” being so against the use of terms such as “mudblood” herself.
I think it’s more likely she’s come out with something totally BAMFy and cleverly insult Umbridge’s lack or organizational skills, disregard for the feelings of other people, and extreme self-interest.
In fact I think she would be very likely to insult Umbridge’s use of derogatory slurs. Umbridge often says things such as “mudblood” and “half-breed”. McGonagall knows better than that and hates people using such slurs. Remember when Umbridge tried to attack Hagrid and McGonagall went out and stood up for him? She has also called Hermione her best student [which is hard to deny really] and on many occasions Hermione has earned one of her “rare special smiles.”
I know it was just a joke, but seriously, McGonagall is way better than that and you are insulting her character by bringing her down to Umbitch’s level of derogatory slurs and unimaginative insults.

“Piertotum Locomotor! Hogwarts is threatened! Man the boundaries, protect us, do your duty to our school!”

The Wand Chooses The Wizard: Minerva McGonagall.
My august grandfather, Gerbold Octavius Ollivander, always called wands of this wood ‘the survivor’s wand,’ because he had sold it to three wizards who subsequently passed through mortal peril unscathed. There is no doubt that this wood, coming as it does from the most resilient of trees, produces wands that demand staying power and strength of purpose in their true owners, and that they are poor tools in the hands of the changeable and indecisive. Fir wands are particularly suited to Transfiguration, and favour owners of focused, strong-minded and, occasionally, intimidating demeanour. - Olivander, Pottermore.
Hogwarts is threatened!
Man the boundaries,
Protect us!
I like how much this shows McGonagalls amazing amount of respect for Dumbledore. I love their relationship and to me this part of this movie was McGonagall kind being like “Dumbledore used the name and Dumbledore was a great man and even though he’s not here anymore we should honor his memory ‘cause he was a bamf and we need to be bamfs right now”
