• You are NOT going to be arrested for using social networking sites
• If you are smart about your downloading/torrenting, you also can go about your scheduled lives.
• Taking down MegaUpload/MegaVideo was a blow, but there are plenty of other places to go to download shows and torrents.
• Do NOT click on any link that claims it’s going to MegaUpload/MegaVideo. It’s a DDoS attack on government websites and that WILL get you caught and most likely you will be sent some scary e-mails.
• The MegaUpload/MegaVideo thing was convenient timing. It has nothing to do with SOPA/PIPA. 
• That being said, SOPA/PIPA is NOT passed and is off the Congress floor (at least) until Obama is no longer president.
• Overnight from the 18th-19th, SOPA/PIPA gained majority opposition in Congress as well
• Even if it is passed, changes cannot be made overnight. Not only are people in charge not “nerds” as they so claim, it took 2 years for the FBI to take down MegaUpload/MegaVideo, so they can’t take down the internet in one swoop.
• Just as in the past, people will find ways around the limitations if they are put into place. The world will continue to spin (as long as the Mayan’s were wrong).
• Contrary to popular belief, Tumblr wouldn’t be at the top of their lists of sites to take down. It’s probably Pirate Bay/MediaFire/FilesTube or other file sharing sites that it would be a tragedy to lose.

SO PLEASE STOP MAKING THESE MELTDOWN POSTS ABOUT THINGS YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AND SCARING SMALL CHILDREN OF THE INTERNET AND THEREFORE PERPETUATING THE STUPIDITY. It’s a simple request. Please. Read before you reblog/post/freak out. Hopefully a lot of you haven’t forgotten how to do that.
